On Monday 3 September, Catherine Carr will be showing us the many ways that you can carry your baby or toddler in the huge variety of slings and baby carriers available in the UK, and I will reveal all about HypnoBirthing™ (what it is and what it isn’t, its many benefits and how exactly it can help you in labour) at the first Birth ROCKS Support Forum held in Oxfordshire, in support of The Royal College of Midwives Campaign for Normal Birth (http://www.rcmnormalbirth.org.uk/).
Suzanne Goddard is the Didcot YogaBellies antenatal yoga teacher and Birth ROCKS representative. Here is more information about Birth ROCKS Support Forums:
YogaBellies are supporting The Royal College of Midwives Campaign for Normal Birth, by facilitating Birth ROCKS Support Forums across the UK.
Regular forums will be held across the UK facilitated by our teachers, with all invited: birth professionals, yoga teachers, antenatal teachers, medics, doulas and mums with an interest, in order to inform people about options surrounding natural birth.
Theses non-profit forums will involve one or two specialists talking about their area of expertise such as working with doulas, being a hypnobirthing practitioner, working as a midwife, water births, sling wearing, acupressure, using rebozos etc. We will discuss each and every topic we can in support of normal birth where possible.
These are, of course, free-of-charge events, where mums and birth workers can meet, converse and drink tea (very important!) These events are entirely non-promotional and are focused on sharing skills and experiences to make birth better.
In Oxfordshire, we have the first date in the diary as Monday the 3rd of September from 7.15pm at the Ladygrove Community Centre in Didcot. We will be discussing and finding out a little more about HypnoBirthing and baby wearing.
Remember, this event is for anyone that loves birth and babies, professional or not, so please come along if you have an interest in natural birth, whatever the reason.
Please spread the word and make these forums a valuable resource for mums and birth supporters locally 🙂 If you have any questions, please email Suzanne Goddard at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her on 07747 166 795.
